About the Artist

Scottish figurative and surrealist painter in oils. His work shows the influence of Matisse, Sir Stanley Spencer and Beryl Cook. His compositions have an invasive humorous quality with the figures generally bathed in light. Began his working life in Glasgow’s Govan shipyards but left in 1979 to pursue a career as a graphic artist. In 1996 he decided to dedicate his time fully to his painting. Has held exhibitions in Belgium, New York, London and Glasgow. Began exhibiting RGI in 1994.
