The original English word for the season between summer and winter was not autumn but harvest (derived from the old English hærfest).

This collection is inspired by the colours and shapes found in nature during this beautiful time of year.

Each piece is handmade, fired to stoneware and completely unique.

Artist Statement

Sarah Lawson is a ceramicist originally from Wales and now living in Edinburgh, Scotland.

She creates small-batch, organic ceramics inspired by nature and shaped by the coastlines, seas, vast landscape, and skies of both Scotland and Wales.

All her work is hand built in stoneware clay and fired multiple times which renders every piece completely unique.

The addition of oxides and multilayered glazes during these firings achieve decorative, functional & tactile pieces .

With an emphasis on haptics, she believes that the material quality her work is as important as the visual.

Her work is meant to be held.
