About the Artist
Artist’s Statement
Pamela Tait is a visual artist living in the Highlands of Scotland.
Leaning into the process of pareidolia, and with a childish sense of play and fun, Tait discovers a rich gathering of gentle beings hiding within the the branches of the trees who radiate a narrative of compassion and evoke a sense of her own folklore.
These Otherworldly beings are described in her work using the printmaking technique of mono-printing. The limitations of this printmaking process generates an energy and confidence within her mark making.
In 2016 Tait developed her practice from drawing and painting to printmaking after becoming an awardee from the Visual Arts and Crafts Award and the Bet Low Trust. She continues to develop her knowledge within printmaking by exploring other techniques in which to enable a better understanding of how best to describe her ideas.
