About the Artist

Since studying at The Chelsea School of Art Georgina has worked in many different mediums, including illustration for advertising and print, & architectural design for Architects and Designers. Moving to Leith and qualifying as a welder and fabricator Georgina set up a self-employed business producing large scale public and corporate sculptures. Working with glass and steel Georgina has undertaken commissions across the UK.
Now living and working in North Berwick, Georgina is producing strong, bold lino-cut and Monoprint pictures depicting the fantastic land and seascapes that take her attention every day. There is a strong nautical theme throughout her work.

Georgina has exhibited at the Visual Arts summer show at the RSA, RGI and RSA Annual Open. She was also short-listed for the Royal Academy Summer Show, 2010 and 2011 which is a fine achievement. She also has work in the Open Eye Gallery, Edinburgh and currently has a piece in the RSA Open 2013.

Georgina followed the North Berwick Community Boat Building Project, having accepted the honorary position of Artist in Residence for the Project. The community boat builders built two St Ayles Skiffs.
Over the last year Georgina has been sketching in the herbarium at the Edinburgh Royal Botanic Gardens, focusing on their rare seed pod collection which resulted in an Exhibition at the Botanics of sketches, Monoprints and etchings.

Most recently Georgina has been working with a taxidermist producing intricate Monoprints of this fascinating process and creatures. These pictures will be shown in an Exhibition at Gallery Ten in Edinburgh next year.

Supporting visual artwork Georgina teaches sculpture, and drawing to primary pupils at the North Berwick Community Centre. Georgina also runs monoprinting and drawing workshops in East Lothian.
