About the Artist


Born at Hutton, near Berwick upon Tweed in 1850, Blair was a prolific and popular Edinburgh artist who worked largely in watercolour, producing topographical views of towns and villages on the east coast, including Edinburgh, East Lothian and the Borders. Exhibited regularly RSA(83) 1870-1920, RI(3), RHA(2), GI(10) & AAS 1893-1912. He died in Edinburgh in 1934, aged 83.
