Her paintings explore manifestations of light, colour, dynamism, balance and interconnectedness. Having studied physics and mathematics in her early years, Elliott often draws on scientific forms as starting points for her paintings. Central to her practice is an ongoing interest in the nature of light. This led her to cyanotype, a process in which light itself plays an active role in creating the image. These cyanotypes become starting points for further painterly development using ink, acrylic paint and resin.
The titles of her works refer to the coding systems of online platforms. Through seemingly random combinations of words, she creates titles that evoke atmosphere and musicality.
